At Ban Sri Than Municipality School, Mr. Montree Singhapunnaphat, Deputy Mayor of Khon Kaen City Municipality, presided over the opening of the training project and visited to encourage the teachers who participated in the training “Training Project to Develop the Care System for Children with Learning Problems by Teachers-Doctors-Parents of Schools under Khon Kaen City Municipality, Group 2, Academic Year 2023” organized by the Khon Kaen City Municipality Educational Supervisor Unit, supported by lecturers from the Northeast Child and Adolescent Mental Health Institute, consisting of Dr. Channarong Chaiudomsom, Specialist, Deputy Director of Medical Affairs, Ms. Panisara Nantawong, Special Education Specialist, and Ms. Chanthira Chai-inwong from the Northeast Child and Adolescent Mental Health Institute.
For the “Development of the Care System for Children with Learning Problems by Teachers-Doctors-Parents” project, it is a collaboration between the Education Office, Khon Kaen City Municipality, and the Northeast Child and Adolescent Mental Health Institute, Khon Kaen Hospital. They have jointly implemented the project to train and develop a system to help children with learning problems by teachers-doctors-parents since 2015 and continue until the present. In 2023, the system has been developed by screening, giving advice, and referring through the Care Application system. The aim is to develop a care system for children with learning problems, covering the care system, referral, and return of children and adolescents between schools and hospitals.
In addition, to enable teachers and parents to have knowledge and understanding about learning problems and mental health problems in children and adolescents, so that teachers can screen and provide initial assistance to children with learning problems effectively. This is to enable children with learning problems to receive services to promote life skills, prevent, treat and rehabilitate mental health problems comprehensively and effectively, and to create a screening system and refer school-aged children with learning problems in schools in Khon Kaen City Municipality. A strong network of teachers and parents working together has also resulted in a decrease in social problems caused by learning problems in children and adolescents.
